上海日立電器有限公司創(chuàng)建于1993年1月，由上海電氣旗下的上海海立（集團）股份有限公司投資75%（上市公司，A股代碼：600619；B股代碼：900910）、日本日立空調•家用電器株式會社投資25%合資組建而成，專業(yè)設計、生產、銷售家用制冷壓縮機，累計總投資57380萬美元，年生產能力1800萬臺（含子公司）。公司位于上海浦東金橋出口加工區(qū)，占地23萬平方米；并于2008年投資建設全資子公司南昌海立電器有限公司，總體規(guī)劃600萬臺，占地34萬平方米，2009年4月18日正式建成投產。
Shanghai Hitachi Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to SHEC) was foundered on Jan, 30th, 1993. SHEC is a joint venture between Shanghai Highly (Group) Co. Ltd. (which subordinated of Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd.) and Hitachi Appliances, Inc. 75% share is held by HIGHLY (a listed company, A Share Code: 600619, B Share Code: 900910) and 25% share is held by HITACHI. SHEC designs, produces and sales professional home-use refrigeration compressors. The total capital of SHEC is 573.80 Million US Dollars and the annual capacity is 18 Million Units (including subsidiary). It covers an area of 230 thousand square meters in Pudong Jinqiao Development Zone in Shanghai. SHEC invested and constructed a wholly-owned subsidiary, Nanchang Highly Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd. Nanchang Highly has been put into production in April 18th, 2009. It covers an area of 340 thousand square meters. The annual capacity of it is 6 Million Units in project.

SHEC had produced one hundred million air conditioner compressors in June, 2010 and had finished the sales of one hundred million units in August, 2010.

SHEC has the largest customer group in this industry. It has made stable supplying relationships with top ten AC factories in the world. To provide better service, SHEC has built Technical Service Centers overseas. SHEC also built and supported its own brand “HIGHLY”. The sales amount is more than one hundred million USD per year. It also earned designations of "Chinese Good Brand", "the Most Competitive Products ", "Chinese Famous Brand" by the China Ministry of Commerce.

SHEC has a unique national level R&D Center and the most advanced laboratories. Around the two global problems about "Freon replacement and Energy-saving", SHEC keeps following and researching the advanced technology of refrigeration industry and the innovation of scientific technology. The products of SHEC can be divided into eight series to cover all the range of domestic refrigeration. The main technical parameters of the products have reached the international advanced level. It has been awarded a lot of honorable titles such as National quality prize, National “51” labor prize, National 6 sigma advanced enterprise, National “Eighth-Five”, “Ninth-Five” advanced technological transformation enterprise, National modernization management enterprise, National quality and technology first prize. On August 2010, SHEC was awarded “2009 Shanghai Mayor Quality prize”.
